A little bit about me

Application only

Hi, my name's Uno!

I am a sweet, gentle boy ready to give all my love to a special family.

My shelter carers say that I am super smart and have great manners (especially when there's treats involved). Since I'm so smart, I always like to learn new things so, my humans should be ready to give me lots of positive reinforcement (aka, all the treatos because I love them) to help me be brave and confident in my new surroundings.

My shelter carers have said that I have become a very confident boy since arriving, buuut I can still get a little bit nervous with new people and in new situations. Since I can get a little bit nervous, I'd be best suited in a home without any young kids running around, I'd be happy with some older human-siblings though!

Apart from being a very smart boy, I also like to stay active, so I hope my new humans will have some fun toys that we can all play with together! I'd be happy to go exploring with you to see new things as well.

My perfect family will be patient and kind with me, and in turn you'll get the perfect companion!

I can't wait to meet you,

Uno x

The Adoption Process

Cats - If you wish to adopt a cat (who is not adopt by application), you are welcome to visit our Wingfield location between 10am and 3pm, Tuesday to Sunday, or our Edinburgh North location between 10am and 3pm, Thursday to Sunday.

Dogs - If you wish to adopt a dog, you must complete the application form first and if your application is successful you will be contacted by an AWL staff member and proceed to the next steps of your adoption journey.

Please note we no longer do walk throughs of cats or dogs in order to provide a calmer environment for them.

Once you have met an animal you would like to adopt, you can take them home the same day as all AWL animals are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and health checked ready for their new home (yes, even the kittens and puppies!)
