Apply to adopt

A little bit about me

Application only
  • 1 year old
  • Male
  • Animal ID: 259690
  • Desexed
  • Extra Large size
  • Adoption Fee: $300

Hi, I'm Hawkins. I'm big, boisterous and beautiful!! If you are looking for a dog to stick by your side, that's me. Literally, I'll be leaning into you any chance I get, I just love to be near my people. I can also jump up and put my paws on your shoulders which some people find adorable, others not so much, but they must just be cat people. I'm very loving and cuddly so will need a home with an open door policy so I can come in and chill with my family. I can be a little fearful about things I haven't encountered before, so an owner with experience with counter conditioning and positive reinforcement would be great. I hope you have lots of toys and blankies for me because I like to carry them around with me as a way to calm myself. Pop in an application today if you have a spare spot on your couch for me.

The Adoption Process

Cats - If you wish to adopt a cat (who is not adopt by application), you are welcome to visit our Wingfield location between 10am and 3pm, Tuesday to Sunday, or our Edinburgh North location between 10am and 3pm, Thursday to Sunday.

Dogs - If you wish to adopt a dog, you must complete the application form first and if your application is successful you will be contacted by an AWL staff member and proceed to the next steps of your adoption journey.

Please note we no longer do walk throughs of cats or dogs in order to provide a calmer environment for them.

Once you have met an animal you would like to adopt, you can take them home the same day as all AWL animals are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and health checked ready for their new home (yes, even the kittens and puppies!)
