I will require an owner that has experience with fearful animals, understands body language and knows how to use positive reinforcement methods to support my rehabilitation. I really only like being patted occasionally and approaching people when I'm comfortable, so I will need a home with adults only. I would like to be the only dog in the home please, I'm currently not very fond of them, or cats for that matter! My new owners will need to offer me a predictable routine and lots of support to help reduce my stressors and help shape me into a more confident little man. Cats - If you wish to adopt a cat (who is not adopt by application), you are welcome to visit our Wingfield location between 10am and 3pm, Tuesday to Sunday, or our Edinburgh North location between 10am and 3pm, Thursday to Sunday.
Dogs - If you wish to adopt a dog, you must complete the application form first and if your application is successful you will be contacted by an AWL staff member and proceed to the next steps of your adoption journey.
Please note we no longer do walk throughs of cats or dogs in order to provide a calmer environment for them.
Once you have met an animal you would like to adopt, you can take them home the same day as all AWL animals are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and health checked ready for their new home (yes, even the kittens and puppies!)
