Meet Courtney - a beautiful cat who may be a bit shy at first, but with lots of love and patience, she will blossom into an amazing companion. This sweet girl has a playful side, and loves to cuddle and be affectionate, but only on her own terms.

Courtney may be timid when she first meets you, but once she feels safe and secure in her new surroundings, she will become a loyal and loving companion. She's a gentle and sweet-natured cat who just needs a little extra time and patience to come out of her shell.

When she's feeling playful, Courtney loves chasing toys and batting around her favourite catnip mouse. And when she's in the mood for snuggles, she'll curl up next to you and purr contentedly while you give her some gentle scratches behind the ears.

If you're looking for a loving and loyal companion who just needs a little extra patience and understanding, then Courtney might be the perfect fit for you. Please note Courtney is currently in her foster home and is unavailable to meet. If you are interested in adopting her please put in an application and a staff member will be in contact.

The Adoption Process

Cats - If you wish to adopt a cat (who is not adopt by application), you are welcome to visit our Wingfield location between 10am and 3pm, Tuesday to Sunday, or our Edinburgh North location between 10am and 3pm, Thursday to Sunday.

Dogs - If you wish to adopt a dog, you must complete the application form first and if your application is successful you will be contacted by an AWL staff member and proceed to the next steps of your adoption journey.

Please note we no longer do walk throughs of cats or dogs in order to provide a calmer environment for them.

Once you have met an animal you would like to adopt, you can take them home the same day as all AWL animals are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and health checked ready for their new home (yes, even the kittens and puppies!)
