Meet meHello there world my name is Simba and my time has finally come to find my special place to call home. It has been a long journey for me and it's taken some time for me to build my confidence, although it still takes me a while with new people I do have my favourite staff members that I am very affectionate with and show that I do have a confident side. I will need very patient people and a home that understands it may take me a while to come out of my shell, but when I do I am such a lovely, affectionate and playful boy. I love to play with my chosen dog friends here in the shelter because they understand I like to play a bit of chasey back and forth (no rough and tumble for me thanks) and then I like to have a good old sniff and potter around which they respect and will do the same thing with me. I would like a home with another dog because I think this will help to build my confidence not only within myself but with you as well. If you think you have the patience and understanding to know what it takes to take in a dog like me then come on down and have a chat with my friends and they can see if you are a good match for me.

Cats - If you wish to adopt a cat you are welcome to visit our Wingfield location between 10am and 3pm, Tuesday to Sunday, or our Edinburgh North location between 10am and 3pm, Thursday to Sunday.
Dogs - If you wish to adopt a dog, you are welcome to visit our Wingfield location between 10am and 3pm, Tuesday to Sunday. Dog adoptions from Edinburgh North are by application only. Please fill out the application form on the dog's profile and wait for our staff to contact you.
Please note we no longer do walk throughs of cats or dogs in order to provide a calmer environment for them.
Once you have met an animal you would like to adopt, you can take them home the same day as all AWL animals are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and health checked ready for their new home (yes, even the kittens and puppies!)
