Meet Elara - The Bold, Beautiful Softie-in-Disguise
Elara isn't shy about telling you how she feels - she may greet you with a hiss, a growl, or her signature "don't mess with me" look. But spend a little time with her, and you'll discover that underneath the sass is a curious, playful, and affectionate cat who just needed someone to give her a chance.
She's highly food-motivated (Churu is her weakness!) and once she realises you're the treat provider, her tough exterior starts to melt. Elara enjoys pats when she's in the mood and will lean into them when she's feeling safe. She loves to explore, play, and keep an eye on everything happening around her.
Elara would do best in a calm, understanding home with someone who respects her boundaries and is willing to let her set the pace. In return, you'll get a smart, entertaining, and deeply rewarding companion who will make you laugh, keep you on your toes, and steal your heart one Churu lick at a time.

The Adoption Process
Cats - If you wish to adopt a cat you are welcome to visit both our Wingfield and Edinburgh North locations between 10am and 3pm, Tuesday to Sunday.
Dogs - If you wish to adopt a dog, you are welcome to visit our Wingfield location between 10am and 3pm, Tuesday to Sunday. Dog adoptions from Edinburgh North are by application only. Please fill out the application form on the dog's profile and wait for our staff to contact you.
Please note: if the animal you wish to adopt is listed as 'application only', please fill out the form on their profile and wait for our team to be in touch.
Once you have met an animal you would like to adopt, you can take them home the same day as all AWL animals are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and health checked ready for their new home (yes, even the kittens and puppies!)
