Walker is a sensitive, sweet-natured cat who has made incredible progress in his time with us. Initially shy and unsure, Walker has blossomed into a curious and affectionate companion with the help of patient, one-on-one care.
Since moving into a quieter, more personal space, Walker has shown just how much he wants to connect. He enjoys treats-Churu is his favorite-and has started to associate human interaction with safety and comfort. Once he feels secure, Walker leans into gentle pats and even purrs with contentment. His soft, slow blinks and relaxed body language tell us he's learning to trust, and he's well on his way to becoming a loving family member.
Walker thrives in calm environments where he can continue to build confidence at his own pace. He'll do best with an adopter who understands the beauty of quiet companionship and is willing to continue the gentle, reward-based approach that's helped him come so far.

Cats - If you wish to adopt a cat you are welcome to visit both our Wingfield and Edinburgh North locations between 10am and 3pm, Tuesday to Sunday.
Dogs - If you wish to adopt a dog, you are welcome to visit our Wingfield location between 10am and 3pm, Tuesday to Sunday. Dog adoptions from Edinburgh North are by application only. Please fill out the application form on the dog's profile and wait for our staff to contact you.

Once you have met an animal you would like to adopt, you can take them home the same day as all AWL animals are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and health checked ready for their new home (yes, even the kittens and puppies!)
