Xena is a gentle, thoughtful girl who likes to take her time getting to know new people - but once you've earned her trust, you'll discover a wonderfully affectionate and quietly playful companion. She'll trot over to greet you (especially when breakfast or dinner is on the way!) and happily hang out nearby, purring softly while she grooms herself or lounges by your side.
She's still learning that hands can bring gentle pats, but she's already showing amazing progress - especially when treats are involved! Offer her a snack and she'll hop up, rest her little paws on your lap, and melt your heart with her courage and cuteness.
And speaking of cute... have you seen her toes? They're adorably funny and absolutely part of her charm - just like her early-morning zoomies and her impressive stair-running skills (18 steps, thank you very much!).

The Adoption Process
Cats - If you wish to adopt a cat you are welcome to visit both our Wingfield and Edinburgh North locations between 10am and 3pm, Tuesday to Sunday.
Dogs - If you wish to adopt a dog, you are welcome to visit our Wingfield location between 10am and 3pm, Tuesday to Sunday. Dog adoptions from Edinburgh North are by application only. Please fill out the application form on the dog's profile and wait for our staff to contact you.
Please note: if the animal you wish to adopt is listed as 'application only', please fill out the form on their profile and wait for our team to be in touch.
Once you have met an animal you would like to adopt, you can take them home the same day as all AWL animals are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and health checked ready for their new home (yes, even the kittens and puppies!)
