Meet meIlya is a tender-hearted little kitten who is still discovering that the world - and the people in it - can be kind and safe. New experiences can feel a bit overwhelming for him right now, and if he gets scared, he may tuck himself away in a cozy hiding spot until he feels brave again.
But behind that cautious exterior is a wonderfully curious and playful boy. Ilya loves to explore, investigate, and chase after toys once he feels comfortable in his space. And if you really want to win him over, treats are the key! He's very food motivated, and a few tasty snacks go a long way in helping him build confidence and positive associations.
Ilya is just beginning to learn that gentle touch can be a good thing. With patience, consistency, and lots of tasty encouragement, he's sure to blossom into a loving and trusting companion. He's looking for a calm, understanding home that will give him the time he needs to grow into his brave, playful self.

Cats - If you wish to adopt a cat you are welcome to visit both our Wingfield and Edinburgh North locations between 10am and 3pm, Tuesday to Sunday.
Dogs - If you wish to adopt a dog, you are welcome to visit our Wingfield location between 10am and 3pm, Tuesday to Sunday. Dog adoptions from Edinburgh North are by application only. Please fill out the application form on the dog's profile and wait for our staff to contact you.

Once you have met an animal you would like to adopt, you can take them home the same day as all AWL animals are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and health checked ready for their new home (yes, even the kittens and puppies!)
