Silence is the shyest of the bunch - a delicate little girl who prefers to watch the world from a safe, quiet corner. New sounds and unfamiliar faces can feel overwhelming, so she may retreat or give a soft hiss while she figures things out. She isn't being unfriendly - she's just taking her time.
If you look closely, you'll see her gentle curiosity peeking through. A tasty treat or a slow, patient play session with a wand toy can tempt her out of hiding. In those moments, you catch a glimpse of the sweet, playful kitten she's becoming.
Silence will need a calm, patient home that understands trust doesn't happen overnight. With kindness, consistency, and plenty of reassurance, she will slowly learn that she's safe and loved. Watching her grow braver day by day will be a truly special and rewarding journey.

Cats - If you wish to adopt a cat you are welcome to visit both our Wingfield and Edinburgh North locations between 10am and 3pm, Tuesday to Sunday.
Dogs - If you wish to adopt a dog, you are welcome to visit our Wingfield location between 10am and 3pm, Tuesday to Sunday. Dog adoptions from Edinburgh North are by application only. Please fill out the application form on the dog's profile and wait for our staff to contact you.

Once you have met an animal you would like to adopt, you can take them home the same day as all AWL animals are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and health checked ready for their new home (yes, even the kittens and puppies!)
