**Meet Ernie - A Gentle Soul Looking for the Right Match**

Ernie is a sweet 2-year-old Chihuahua who is currently thriving in foster care while we search for the perfect home through our application process. Although naturally timid, Ernie has made wonderful progress with patience, understanding and positive reinforcement. Once he trusts you, he is incredibly affectionate and loves nothing more than curling up on your lap or snuggling under the covers at bedtime.

Ernie currently lives with three small dogs and has formed a special friendship with a male dog of a similar age and play style. We would love to see him in a calm home with a confident, small canine companion to help him continue building confidence.

He enjoys quiet daily walks and is becoming more adventurous, though he still appreciates gentle encouragement in new environments. Ernie has recently discovered the joy of toys and absolutely loves his food, making reward-based training an ideal way to help him continue to flourish.

Ernie would suit a quiet, patient home without young children or frequent visitors, as new people can still be overwhelming for him. He also enjoys barking at the foster carer's cat, so a cat-free home would be best. With time, kindness and understanding, Ernie will make a loyal and loving companion.
