Alternatively you can call (08) 8348 1300 to make a donation or mail it to: Animal Welfare League, PO Box 1525, Port Adelaide, SA 5015.

We understand that many people may not be in the position to make a money donation but there are many other ways you can help the lost and abandoned animals in our care.

Bedding Donations

The AWL cares for approximately 12,000 animals each year and as a result the AWL team is in constant need of good quality, clean beding.

The following is a list of items that we can use as bedding for the animals;

  • Towels
  • Sheets
  • Rugs and blankets
  • Clothing (jumpers, coats, tops, pants and skirts)

We CANNOT use the following:

  • Clothing Items such as socks and hosiery (these items are too small to provide warmth and comfort)
  • Anything with stuffing or filling (eg. quilts, pillow or mattresses) as these can become a hazard for the animals.
  • Shoes, belts and hats

Toy Donations

The AWL team are always in need of good quality dog and cats toys which help with the environmental enrichment programs at the AWL. We care for up to 12,000 dogs and cats each year which means we need as many toys for them to play with as possible.

Treat Donations

Good quality dog and cat treats are always in desperate need of the AWL team. Dog treats play a major role in the fantastic work and training our Behaviour Team and Canine Calmers conduct with the dogs in our care. We believe in positive reinforcement and what's more positive than a yummy treat?

Drop off points for all donations include both our Wingfield and Edinburgh North Shelters or any of our ReTAILS Thrift Shops in Tranmere, Gawler, Port Adelaide, Parafield Gardens and Hallett Cove.

As an organisation that cares for approximately 12,000 dogs and cats each year without any direct Government funding, the AWL would not be able to operate without the tremendous support of hundreds volunteers. Our volunteers dedication day after day is something truly remarkable and without their contribution we would not be able to provide lifesaving adoption, behaviour, health and training services to thousands of animals in need.
