Pet First Aid Kit

Your beloved canine companion has cut their paw on some broken glass and is bleeding heavily – What do you do?

Your faithful feline is choking and unable to breathe – What do you do?

Just like humans, pets can easily injure themselves or become ill but they depend entirely on their owners to act quickly to potentially save their life before veterinary treatment is obtained.

The AWL is excited to be partnering with St John to ensure pet owners have the resources to look after their injured furry loved ones with specially designed St John’s Pet First Aid Kits. Including a St John’s Pet First Aid Kit in your household is an important part of being a responsible pet owner. There are many ways you can assist your injured pet before transporting them to your vet and these kits are also designed to help stabilise injuries and prevent further trauma.

To give pet owners the skills and confidence to administer emergency first aid, AWL’s resident veterinarian Dr Alison will be running informative and hands-on pet first aid classes at the AWL’s Wingfield shelter. Each class will include in-depth training in accident prevention, what to do in trauma emergencies and safe restraint and transportation of your pet in an emergency plus much more!
