His journey to trust humans is just beginning, and he may need some time before he's ready to open up.
While Dutch isn't seeking affection at the moment, he may begin to warm up with some tasty treats and gentle patience. He's not yet eager for attention, and it's important to respect his boundaries and give him the space he needs to feel safe. Over time, with a calm and understanding approach, Dutch could blossom into a loving companion.
If you're looking for a cat who will require patience and a quiet environment, Dutch may be the right match for you. With a little time and a lot of kindness, he just might surprise you with his sweet, shy nature once he's ready to come out of his shell.

Cats - If you wish to adopt a cat you are welcome to visit both our Wingfield and Edinburgh North locations between 10am and 3pm, Tuesday to Sunday.
Dogs - If you wish to adopt a dog, you are welcome to visit our Wingfield location between 10am and 3pm, Tuesday to Sunday. Dog adoptions from Edinburgh North are by application only. Please fill out the application form on the dog's profile and wait for our staff to contact you.

Once you have met an animal you would like to adopt, you can take them home the same day as all AWL animals are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and health checked ready for their new home (yes, even the kittens and puppies!)
