The following terms and conditions apply to the provision of pet boarding and related services by Animal Welfare League of South Australia Inc. (“AWL”, “We” or “our”) to you (“Pet Owner” or “You”). By making a booking with our Pet Boarding service, you will be deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions.
Any amendments to these Terms and Conditions must be agreed in writing by AWL.
- Disclosure
- The Pet Owner must disclose any existing or previous medical conditions and/or unusual behaviours such as aggression, anxiety, timidness, of your pet, whilst making the booking.
- Bookings and Payment
- The Pet Owner agrees to provide all contact details including emergency contact information and other particulars required by AWL in order to accept a booking and will inform AWL immediately should any of the details change;
- A $50 during off peak times and a $100 during peak times, NON refundable deposit is required to secure your booking. There is no guarantee that services will still be available until receipt of the deposit;
- The balance of the total booking cost must be paid in full on the check-in date;
- Payments can be made using any of the accepted payment methods specified on the booking form;
- Fees and Charges are outlined on AWL’s Website and estimated on the booking form. Fees are subject to change due to additional service provided during the boarding period;
- A 15% surcharge on fees will apply for public holiday days;
- Health Treatments Required before Check-In
- The Pet Owner acknowledges and agrees that:
- any booking is not valid without proof of vaccination for all Pets;
- all Pets must have been treated for fleas and worms not more than 1 month (fleas) or 3 months (worms), prior to the date of check-in;
- Cats must have had an annual F3 or F4 vaccinations and must have completed:
- an initial course of the vaccination at least 24 months prior to the date of check-in; or
- a booster vaccination at least 7 days, but not more than 24 months, prior to the date of check-in;
- Dogs must have had an annual Canine cough vaccination in the last 12 months. The Pet’s C3 component of the vaccination must have completed:
- an initial course at least 14 days prior to the date of check-in; or
- a booster at least 7 days, but not more than 12 months, prior to the date of check-in;
- The current vaccination certificate for the Pet must be provided to AWL in order to confirm the booking. AWL reserves the right to cancel the booking if the Pet Owner fails to provide the Pet’s current vaccination certificate;
- By presenting the Pet for check-in at the AWL Pet Boarding service, the Pet Owner asserts that the health treatment requirements in this clause have been satisfied;
- AWL in its sole discretion may require that the Pet to have additional vaccinations prior to check-in to protect against additional diseases or parasites not protected against by the vaccinations in this clause;
- If worms and/or fleas are detected on the Pet at check-in or during boarding, the Pet will receive immediate treatment at the expense of the Pet Owner;
- The Pet Owner acknowledges and agrees that:
- Check-in and Check-out
- The Pet must be dropped off and collected from AWL at the appointment time mutually agreed between the Pet Owner and AWL Boarding;
- Any check-out after 12 noon will incur an additional night’s accommodation fee;
- All pets being dropped off or collected from AWL Boarding are to be on a leash or in a carrier;
- If at check-out the Pet is to be collected by a person other than the Pet Owner, the Pet Owner must provide AWL with the names and mobile phone number(s) of the person(s) authorised to collect the Pet;
- The Pet Owner acknowledges and agrees that they or the Pet Owner’s emergency contact person are authorised to pick up the Pet;
- The Pet may be collected earlier than the agreed departure date resulting in the forfeiture of any remaining boarding fees;
- Abandoned Pets
- If a Pet is not collected within 7 days of the agreed departure date and no communication is received by AWL from the Pet Owner or Emergency Contact person, seeking to extend the boarding period of the Pet, the Pet will be considered abandoned;
- When a Pet is abandoned, it is deemed that the Pet Owner has surrendered the Pet to AWL and forfeit’s all ownership rights to the Pet and agrees that any costs associated with the surrender of the Pet and any additional boarding expenses incurred by AWL, will remain the Pet Owners responsibility;
- Medical treatment and / or death
- Any animal requiring veterinary treatment will be attended to by a registered Veterinary Surgeon. All professional fees incurred are to be at the expense of the Pet Owner. If AWL need to transport pet to an offsite Vet an additional $50 fee will be incurred;
- Should the Pet require anesthesia and/or emergency surgery, it is deemed that the Pet Owner gives permission for an AWL, or an emergency clinic, or the Pet Owner’s nominated clinic Veterinarian, to carry out the necessary procedures with payment of all associated costs being the Pet Owners responsibility;
- In the unlikely event the Pet dies whilst being boarded with AWL, the Pet Owner acknowledges that AWL will, as soon as reasonably practicable after becoming aware of the death, contact the Pet Owner or the Pet Owner’s emergency contact;
- If deemed necessary by AWL, and unless otherwise directed by the Pet Owner at check-in, the Pet Owner agrees that AWL will arrange for an independent autopsy to be performed;
- Bathing and Grooming
- All dogs will be bathed before going home if staying more than 5 days at the expense of the Pet Owner;
- If it is deemed that the Pet requires extra services to ensure their comfort and welfare, this will be undertaken at the discretion of AWL and the expense of the Pet Owner;
- Medication
- All medication must be in original packaging accompanied by veterinarian dosage instructions and clearly labelled with the Pet’s name. Each administration of oral and topical medications will be at the expense of the Pet Owner;
- Cancellations
- Notice must be provided by the Pet Owner within 7 days should the Pet Owner wish to cancel a booking;
- The Pet Owner acknowledges that if a booking is cancelled by the Pet Owner (in whole or in part) or by AWL in accordance with these Terms and Conditions there will be no refund of any deposits already paid to AWL at the time of cancellation;
- Food & Belongings
- Unless provided as per Clause 10.3, all Pets will be fed pet food provided by AWL during their boarding period;
- the Pet Owner must notify AWL of any special dietary requirements or preferences before the commencement of boarding and must supply all food in accordance with clause 10.3 for the duration of the Pet’s boarding;
- All food supplied by the Pet Owner must be individually proportioned and packaged in zip-lock plastic bags or clear disposable containers, clearly labelled with the Pet’s name, timing of meal and date of which the meal should be given, for each meal of each day of the Pet’s boarding together, with all other necessary directions;
- AWL reserves the right to change the Pet’s diet if in its reasonable opinion the Pet requires an alternate diet. If there is a requirement to procure special food this will be at the expense of the Pet Owner;
- Miscellaneous
- AWL, its officers, employees and agents will not be responsible or liable for any claim, action or proceeding for damages, compensation, loss, expense, costs, interest or other monetary amount howsoever arising relating to, arising out of or in connection with any injury, illness, trauma or other condition suffered by a Pet, or the death of a Pet, which may occur while or as a result of your Pet boarding with the AWL.
- The Pet Owner agrees to indemnify and hold harmless AWL, its officers, employees and agents from and against any claim, action or proceeding for damages, compensation, loss, expense, costs, interest or other monetary amount howsoever arising relating to, arising out of or in connection with any injury, illness, trauma or other condition suffered by another Pet, or the death of another Pet, caused by the Pet Owners Pet while boarding with the AWL.
