Sandra is an incredibly loving and gentle dog with a heart full of affection for her people. She thrives on connection and will happily follow you from room to room, always ready for a cuddle or a gentle pat. Car rides are one of her favorite things - she loves hopping in and being part of the adventure - and she also enjoys long walks where she can take in all the sights and smells. After her outings, Sandra is just as content to snuggle up beside you and soak up some quiet companionship.
Life in the shelter has been overwhelming for this sensitive girl, and it's clear she would much rather be in a calm, stable home where she can truly relax. Sandra would do best as the only dog in her household, as she prefers to have her people all to herself. She doesn't like being left alone for long stretches of time, so a family or individual who is home often - or who can take her along on their day-to-day activities - would be a wonderful fit.
Because she is happiest and safest when she has room to explore, Sandra will need a home with secure, decent fencing to ensure she can enjoy the outdoors without worry.

Dogs - If you wish to adopt a dog, you are welcome to visit our Wingfield location between 10am and 3pm, Tuesday to Sunday. Dog adoptions from Edinburgh North are by application only. Please fill out the application form on the dog's profile and wait for our staff to contact you.

Once you have met an animal you would like to adopt, you can take them home the same day as all AWL animals are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and health checked ready for their new home (yes, even the kittens and puppies!)
