Jalapeño Jones is a gentle little boy who, like his siblings, found the shelter environment overwhelming at first. In foster care, his soft and kind nature has begun to shine through as he learns that the world doesn't have to be so scary.
By nature, Jalapeño Jones is calm and tender. Once he feels safe, he will happily purr when being petted, showing just how much affection is waiting beneath the surface. That said, he isn't a kitten to be rushed into things - he needs time, patience, and space to find his bravery on his own terms.
Affection won't come straight away, but when it does, it's genuine and deeply rewarding. Jalapeño Jones is the kind of kitten who forms quiet, meaningful bonds and will thrive in a gentle home that understands slow progress is still progress.

Cats - If you wish to adopt a cat you are welcome to visit both our Wingfield and Edinburgh North locations between 10am and 3pm, Tuesday to Sunday.
Dogs - If you wish to adopt a dog, you are welcome to visit our Wingfield location between 10am and 3pm, Tuesday to Sunday. Dog adoptions from Edinburgh North are by application only. Please fill out the application form on the dog's profile and wait for our staff to contact you.

Once you have met an animal you would like to adopt, you can take them home the same day as all AWL animals are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and health checked ready for their new home (yes, even the kittens and puppies!)
