Meet meCalix is a fun-loving young kitten with a playful spirit and endless curiosity! If there's a toy nearby, she's ready for action but wand toys are definitely her favourite. Watching her leap, pounce, and chase her "prey" is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face.
When meeting new people, Calix can be a little shy at first. Luckily, the way to her heart is simple: a few tasty treats and an exciting play session. Once she realises you're there for fun (and snacks!), she warms up quickly and starts to let her playful personality shine.
At this stage, Calix isn't much of a cuddle bug and doesn't really enjoy being petted just yet. She's happiest interacting through games and play, and she's looking for a family who will respect her boundaries while allowing her confidence to continue growing. As she settles into a loving home, she'll have the opportunity to build trust at her own pace.
Calix would be a wonderful match for someone who appreciates a cat with plenty of personality and understands that the best relationships are built with patience, play, and a few delicious treats.

Cats - If you wish to adopt a cat you are welcome to visit both our Wingfield and Edinburgh North locations between 10am and 3pm, Tuesday to Sunday.
Dogs - If you wish to adopt a dog, you are welcome to visit our Wingfield location between 10am and 3pm, Tuesday to Sunday. Dog adoptions from Edinburgh North are by application only. Please fill out the application form on the dog's profile and wait for our staff to contact you.

Once you have met an animal you would like to adopt, you can take them home the same day as all AWL animals are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and health checked ready for their new home (yes, even the kittens and puppies!)
