Meet mePoe is a sweet and gentle girl who has been with us for a little while now, and we've been working hard to help her build her confidence.
She also spent a short time in foster care, where we saw slow but encouraging progress. With people she trusts, Poe has started coming out to say hello, enjoying gentle cheek pats when treats are involved. We're also seeing lots of little moments of flirting and lovely, soft body language from her - signs that she is beginning to feel more comfortable and show us her sweet personality.
Poe is still a shy girl and needs time to feel safe and understand that she can trust the people around her. She would love a calm, quiet home with someone who understands her personality and is willing to let her settle in at her own pace.
We can't change Poe overnight, and we don't expect her to become a confident cat straight away. But with a calm, safe home, patience and someone willing to understand her, we believe Poe can continue to grow in confidence and show the loving girl she truly is.

Cats - If you wish to adopt a cat you are welcome to visit both our Wingfield and Edinburgh North locations between 10am and 3pm, Tuesday to Sunday.
Dogs - If you wish to adopt a dog, you are welcome to visit our Wingfield location between 10am and 3pm, Tuesday to Sunday. Dog adoptions from Edinburgh North are by application only. Please fill out the application form on the dog's profile and wait for our staff to contact you.

Once you have met an animal you would like to adopt, you can take them home the same day as all AWL animals are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and health checked ready for their new home (yes, even the kittens and puppies!)
