Meet meZira is a sensitive girl who can be a little nervous when meeting new people, so she may need a couple of meet-and-greets to get to know you and feel comfortable. With a little patience and understanding, she'll begin to show her true colours, and once she warms up, she's an affectionate and loving companion who has plenty of love to give.
Zira is looking for an adult-only home or a family with dog-savvy teenagers who understand the importance of giving her space, respecting her boundaries and allowing her to settle in at her own pace.
If you're willing to let her take things slowly and build a bond based on trust, you'll get to discover the sweet, loving girl waiting beneath that initial nervousness.

Cats - If you wish to adopt a cat you are welcome to visit both our Wingfield and Edinburgh North locations between 10am and 3pm, Tuesday to Sunday.
Dogs - If you wish to adopt a dog, you are welcome to visit our Wingfield location between 10am and 3pm, Tuesday to Sunday. Dog adoptions from Edinburgh North are by application only. Please fill out the application form on the dog's profile and wait for our staff to contact you.

Once you have met an animal you would like to adopt, you can take them home the same day as all AWL animals are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and health checked ready for their new home (yes, even the kittens and puppies!)
