What would you do if you found Hattie raising her puppies on the street? Would you do everything in your power to give them a safe place to go?
You’d show her kindness and love. You’d extend a loving hand to give them a chance at happiness.
Thankfully, Hattie and her puppies had a guardian angel. Kind people like you found them in their time of need and wrapped them up with love, instantly giving them hope for a better tomorrow.
It was clear that Hattie had been looking for help for some time. Caring selflessly for her puppies had caused her mammary glands to become inflamed and swollen. She was suffering from an itchy skin condition and her left eye was inflamed. Even though Hattie had her own health problems, her puppies were happy and healthy. Despite her difficult circumstances, this brave mum had done everything she could to give them the best possible start in life.
When Hattie and her puppies arrived at Animal Welfare League, she must have known her luck had turned. She trusted our vet team with her puppies, happily enjoyed treats and demanded attention from anyone who would give it. AWL vet, Dr Michelle said, “She had such a sweet temperament from the moment we met her. She was such a good girl and so brave – I’m so glad she’s safe now because she’s a very special dog who deserves the world.”
