Velvet
Velvet is a beautiful ginger girl with a gentle heart and a quiet nature. She can be a little timid when meeting new people or exploring new surroundings, preferring to take things at her own pace until she feels safe.
You may notice that Velvet has a cloudy appearance in one of her eyes. This is the result of an injury she suffered before coming into our care. The injury has healed and left some scarring, giving her a unique look that only adds to her charm. While her new family should be aware that future veterinary care may be needed, it certainly doesn't stop Velvet from being the lovely cat she is today.
Once she's comfortable, Velvet's sweet personality begins to shine. She enjoys calm company, gentle reassurance, and peaceful moments spent with the people she trusts.
Velvet shares an incredibly close bond with her son, Velcro. They look to each other for comfort and confidence, so they're searching for a forever home where they can continue to grow together. With a little patience and a lot of love, Velvet will make a truly special companion.

The Adoption Process
Cats - If you wish to adopt a cat you are welcome to visit both our Wingfield and Edinburgh North locations between 10am and 3pm, Tuesday to Sunday.
Dogs - If you wish to adopt a dog, you are welcome to visit our Wingfield location between 10am and 3pm, Tuesday to Sunday. Dog adoptions from Edinburgh North are by application only. Please fill out the application form on the dog's profile and wait for our staff to contact you.
Please note: if the animal you wish to adopt is listed as 'application only', please fill out the form on their profile and wait for our team to be in touch.
Once you have met an animal you would like to adopt, you can take them home the same day as all AWL animals are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and health checked ready for their new home (yes, even the kittens and puppies!)
