Corporate Volunteer Days
Animal Welfare League (AWL) Corporate Volunteer Days are an opportunity for your staff to bond whilst having a unique and hands-on experience at AWL’s Wingfield Centre.
Why should we volunteer?
AWL receives no government funding, so we rely solely on the support from the community around us. Your team volunteering with us will help to provide food, shelter, and vet care to animals in need as well as improving their time in our care with the enrichment items that you make!
Sixty nine per cent of Australian households have an animal in their home, making Australia one of the most animal loving countries in the world. We love animals because of the undeniable joy and love their presence brings to our lives as well as having a positive impact on our mental health. Spending the day learning more about animals, exploring the bond we share with them and giving back is a great way to improve your team’s engagement and morale!
What does the day consist of?
Your team will start the day with an educational workshop where they’ll learn about animal welfare, responsible pet ownership and the work of AWL in South Australia. This is followed by a behind-the-scenes tour of the shelter and veterinary clinic to see the work we do in action and meet the people who make it happen (and some of the animals in our care!).
After a fully catered lunch, participants will undertake a working-bee style activity making enrichment items for our animal residents while they wait for their forever homes or undertaking maintenance activities around the shelter.
How much does it cost?
The cost for the day is $1,500 for up to 10 participants. Lunch, tea, coffee, and water are all provided for your team. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to our fundraising team for more information and ideas on ways your team can fundraise the costs of the day.
