This riverside trail is a fantastic option for dogs who enjoy exploring open spaces. The walk winds through grassy reserves, alongside the river, and past playground areas, making it a great choice for families looking for a longer adventure.

There are plenty of sights, smells and spaces for your dog to enjoy along the way.

Top tip: Take time to enjoy the river, grassy reserves and playgrounds as you make your way along the trail.

Tinjella Trail – Kuitpo Forest

Distance: 12km

Time: Approximately 4 hours

Surrounded by the peaceful beauty of Kuitpo Forest, the Tinjella Trail is a wonderful choice for dogs and owners who love getting amongst nature. The trail offers a chance to escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of the forest.

With a longer distance, it’s a great adventure for active dogs — but there’s no need to complete the entire trail in one day.

Top tip: Keep an eye out for the magnificent redgum trees, with some estimated to be over 300 years old.

Linear Park Trail – Athelstone to West Beach

Distance: 35km

Time: Approximately 7.5 hours

The Linear Park Trail is one of Adelaide’s most well-known walking routes and offers plenty of opportunities for dogs and owners to enjoy the outdoors. Following the River Torrens, the trail passes through parks, open spaces and scenic riverside areas.

While the full trail is a big adventure, you don’t need to complete it all at once.

Top tip: Choose a section of the trail and create your own circuit by walking down one side of the river and returning along the other.
