Your kind donation offers a new life for vulnerable animals: a life of cosy naps, curious sniffs, and gentle pats. Because of you, they will become a daily reminder of the transformation that springs from love, patience and kindness.
Each year, thousands of stray, lost and abandoned animals are brought into AWL. They're alone, scared, and in desperate need of help... just like Spring and Yabby. Meet them below!
![]() | Meet SpringWhen vet nurse, Jess, first saw Spring her heart broke, "Spring didn't even know how to walk on a lead and was severely underweight for her size. It was heartbreaking to see her in that condition. Severe emaciation is serious and can be life-threatening because when a dog is starving, their body starts to break down muscles and organs for energy." Our team spent time with Spring, offering her food and unconditional love. Over the following weeks, Spring certainly had a spring in her step! |
Meet YabbyFrom the top of her little head, over her back, all the way to her tail, Yabby had suffered painful thermal burns, likely caused by a car engine. As a result of her extensive burns, some of Yabby’s skin had turned necrotic and needed to be removed. The vet team leapt into action, carefully removing the dead and dying tissue in surgery. Without immediate treatment, it would have created a massive source of infection, putting her at risk of sepsis or a life-threatening blood clot. With wounds this extensive, there was also a very real danger of life-threatening protein loss. | ![]() |
It's people like you who are the light in the darkness for vulnerable animals, who transform their hope into happiness. Together, we can make sure every animal gets the second chance they deserve.
It takes time, patience, and a gentle hand to rehabilitate animals in need, but it's worth it when you see the gratitude in their eyes.
Will you open your heart and show your love for animals in need?
