Service Quality Officer

ABOUT US

As one of the largest animal shelters in South Australia, Animal Welfare League (AWL) takes in over 80 animals each week to rehabilitate and rehome them with loving families.

Thanks to the generous support of South Australian animal lovers, we can continue our mission to connect pets, people and community – not just through matching pets with their forever families, but also by helping owners farewell their beloved pets through our Pet Cremation service, caring for pets in our Boarding facilities and helping South Australians shop sustainably through our Op Shops.

Thanks to the work of our amazing employees and volunteers and the ongoing support of the South Australian community, we will continue working towards our vision of a South Australia where every pet has a loving home.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Service Quality Officer, you will provide high-quality administrative support to AWL’s Cremations Department, ensuring exceptional products and services.

Key responsibilities include managing quality control, liaising with vet partners, handling financial processes, maintaining systems, and delivering excellent customer service. Tasks include stock management, processing orders, responding to inquiries, preparing memorial products, and maintaining records. Success in this role requires professionalism, collaboration, and adherence to privacy and compliance standards.

Please note, this is a part time role requiring 60 hours per fortnight. Availability for one Saturday per month will be highly regarded. This role is based at Edinburgh North with travel required

ABOUT YOU

The Cremations Department is seeking adaptable, team-oriented individuals who align with AWL’s vision and mission. Ideal candidates will have experience in production, logistics, or customer service, strong customer-focused skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve KPIs. Key attributes include professionalism, reliability, effective time management, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for interacting with stakeholders at all levels.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Some flexibility with working hours will be required. This includes working across a fourteen (14) day roster including AM and PM shifts, public holidays and weekends.
  • Participation in an on-call roster may be required.
  • Additional hours may be required to meet business needs.
  • A current driver’s licence is desirable.
  • A current forklift licence is required or willingness to obtain one upon commencement.
  • Satisfactory National Police Clearance Certificate / National Police Check (NPC) at commencement of employment and periodically at the request of AWL.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU!

  • Discounted pet boarding, adoptions and cremation services in accordance with AWL policy.
  • 20% discount off retail products from the AWL Pet Shop.
  • Work in a positive and supportive environment.
