Meet Zuzy, a sweet cat who was rescued thanks to kind sponsors
Zuzy, a two-year-old stray cat, was frightened, underweight
and in tremendous pain when she arrived at our door. The vet team quickly
discovered that the source of her agonising pain was a broken jaw and two
fractured teeth.
Zuzy was struggling to eat due to the discomfort from her injuries, so our vet team performed surgery right away; wiring Zuzy’s broken jaw to keep it stable while her bones healed.
The surgery was a success, but she still had a long road to recovery before she was ready to be adopted. Zuzy needed to be closely monitored to make sure she was eating well and that her jaw was healing with no infection.
As Zuzy recovered from her surgery she slowly began to build up her confidence. Once her jaw was stable and she was eating again, she came out of her shell and was very affectionate.
Almost four months after arriving at AWL, Zuzy’s jaw had healed and she was adopted by a loving new family. Her new owner told us that “she settled in very quickly, and she loves food! She gets so excited when she hears the food packet open…We love her, and I can’t imagine our family without her.”
Zuzy’s remarkable and heartwarming story was only possible thanks to our caring sponsors. Their compassion and support helps provide vet care, food, and shelter for cats like Zuzy.
