This role involves social interaction and planned enrichment time with cats, preparing of enrichment tools, cleaning equipment and condos and maintaining a high standard of hygiene and infection control.

Pawfessional Pooch Playmates distribute treats, play with toys and ensure the dogs get their daily exercise and enrichment. The main 'key pawformance indicator' for this role is daily tail wags. Keep them above 50 wags per day and we won't have any problems 🐶

This role involves providing dogs with social interaction, mental and physical enrichment and playtime according to their individual exercise plans, observing and responding to dog body language, the use of positive reinforcement to encourage appropriate behaviours and maintaining a high level of hygiene and infection control.

Applicants will need to be physically able to manage strong, boisterous and playful pups.

Our pawsome Foster Care team needs someone to help them clean and keep track of supplies, put together foster care packs, maintain storage areas and provide general suppawt to our amazing foster carers!

Our dogs and cats always need someone to wash and fold their bedding because they're far too impawtant to do it themselves! They have very high standards when it comes to fresh, clean bedding, so they asked us to ask you one simple question: Have you ever done laundry? If the answer is yes, you're qualified!

This role involves collecting, washing and folding bedding and towels, washing food bowls and litter trays, cleaning toys and enrichment items, maintaining food preparation areas, and helping to uphold a high standard of hygiene and infection control. Your support plays an important role in ensuring our animals have a clean, comfortable and safe environment every day.

We're currently looking for compassionate volunteers to join our team at the Edinburgh North Shelter on:

Monday, Wednesday, Friday

Do you have a green paw? Use your skills and knowledge to help keep our gardens neat and tidy! We tried to enlist the dogs to help with this one, but all they wanted to do was dig holes 🤷‍♂️

This role involves weeding and spraying of gardens, assisting with planting and trimming trees and shrubs, unsupervised gardening work, cleaning outside areas of leafy debris, and assisting with outdoor preventative maintenance.

Here at AWL, we have an amazing group of compassionate suppawters who make it their mission to save the lives of animals in need. When they visit us, we love engaging with them and making sure they know how their suppawt helps animals - that's where you come in!

This role involves greeting customers, helping with their enquiries, engaging customers in the waiting area, cleaning and tidying customer facing areas, assisting with adoptions, providing water for any visiting animals.
