Why should we volunteer?
The animals in our care rely solely on the compassion and support from the community around them. Your team's Corporate Volunteering day will provide food, shelter, vet care and enrichment to these animals and ensure they enjoy their time in our shelter!
If you've ever had a pet, you'll know what a pawsitive impact they have on our lives. Having a little friend waiting for you when you come home from work is a uniquely wholesome feeling, and when you look into their eyes you know in your heart that you'd do anything for them.
Volunteering your time to help the animals at AWL will give them the chance to find families of their own, meaning other people will get to experience the joy of coming home to a pet as well.
What does the day consist of?
You'll start the day with an educational workshop where you’ll learn about animal welfare, responsible pet ownership and the work of AWL in South Australia. This is followed by a behind-the-scenes tour of the shelter and veterinary clinic to see the direct impact the generosity of animal-lovers just like you has on the lives of these cats, dogs and rabbits. You'll also meet the real stars: the animals!
After a fully catered lunch, you'll come together to make the shelter a better place for the animals by building toys and enrichment items for them to enjoy! They've also requested that you undertake any odd jobs around the place (they're quite demanding - it's best to just do what they say).
How much does it cost?
The cost for the day is $1,500 for up to 10 participants. We'll provide lunch, tea, coffee, and water for your team. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to our fundraising team for more information and ideas on ways your team can raise the funds to cover the cost of the day!
